This masterclass experience includes one ticket to the August 8th Saturday night show, where OK3 will close out the evening, followed by an in-depth Sunday morning workshop on August 9th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Designed as a comprehensive learning session rather than a performance opportunity, this masterclass gives participants a rare behind-the-scenes look at OK3’s journey—from their time on NBC’s The Voice to building and sustaining a successful vocal group over the years. Attendees will gain practical insight into arranging vocal parts, developing a cohesive group sound, and navigating the business side of music, including branding and social media marketing. It’s an interactive, educational experience tailored for those looking to grow their artistry and understanding of the industry.
This special masterclass offers a unique opportunity to learn from country music legend Leona Williams, renowned for her work alongside Merle Haggard, including the classic hit “You Take Me for Granted.” The experience begins with one ticket to the Saturday night Opry show on September 26, where Leona will perform, following a first set featuring original songs performed by Opry artists. The following Sunday morning, participants will join Leona and her son Ron—an accomplished songwriter in his own right—for an intimate songwriting masterclass. While not a guaranteed performance opportunity, attendees may have the opportunity to workshop and share a song with Leona, gaining invaluable feedback and insight from two seasoned professionals. This session is designed for songwriters looking to deepen their craft, drawing on decades of experience in storytelling, collaboration, and the country music tradition.
Similar to the Kickstart and Rising Star workshop formats from past years, this workshop consists of an afternoon vocal workshop followed by an evening performance open to the public. Oklahoma Opry Executive Director/ACM@UCO Vocal Professor, Cindy Scarberry, will work one on one with participants and offer general, industry related feedback in a masterclass during the afternoon, focusing on stage presence and performance technique. Participants will be asked to prepare two songs to workshop with Cindy and will then perform later that evening. Tickets to attend the evening concert will be available online after registration closes and at the door for $10.
Learn the basics about stage and room sound, how to communicate with sound engineers, and what to do on stage to get the best sound - and hear what you need - while singing on stage. This Sunday morning masterclass is not a performance opportunity, but an engaging hands-on clinic for artists to deepen their understanding and experience in performing on stage. Facilitated by Oklahoma Opry Acoustic Guitar player, vocalist, and sound engineer Dustin Jones, alongside Oklahoma Opry Associate Director, Sound engineer, Bass player, and vocalist, Kelcie Lee.
